Quiznos CEO Gone: The Shakeup Continues

Admittedly, it’s been a while since I’ve reported on Quiznos. That’s because things have been eerily quiet, news-wise, for the Denver-based franchise chain. Until last week.

From The Denver Post:

 “Quiznos’ president and CEO has stepped down after just 16 months on the job, saying that he needs to spend more time with his family.”

So, the CEO is gone. The shakeup continues.

More Family Time For Doug Pendergast?

Let me start off by saying that I’m all for family time. Most of us (me included) work waaaay more than we should. And heading up Quiznos, a fast food franchise chain that’s been hammered by current/former franchisees, and financial analysts, was probably no picnic.I can’t imagine the stress Pendergast must of been under. But…

Do you really think “wanting more family time” was the real reason Pendergast left Quiznos?

Call me skeptical, but I don’t think that’s why he left. I think Quiznos is done.

Quiznos is Still Promoting Franchise Opportunities

I guess they have to-even with the CEO gone. They have to sell franchises. But, it must be very challenging. Anyone the franchise development team talks to that has internet access and minimal Google search skills will quickly be able to see scores of negative reviews and negative press.
